YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament
The YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament is Queensland’s leading youth forum, bringing together young people aged between 15 and 25 from every electorate in Queensland. It is run by the YMCA and facilitated by young people for young people and gives participants the opportunity to experience parliament first-hand through participating in a nonpartisan mock parliament setting. The 7 month program is structured around three core aims of community engagement, parliamentary education and personal development. We welcome participants from all walks of life who are united by a passion to enact change in their communities.
Young people in the program are mentored to develop their public speaking, decision making and leadership skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Youth Members have the opportunity to engage in topical debate in front of Members of Parliament, network with key industry stake holders and attend a reception at Government House.
